I have a Win98 pc networked to a Win95 pc with Sohoware NDC 10/100 Ethernet pci Adapters. (Set up for my brother's office last year.) It was working for sharing files both ways, but the Win95 could not print to the local Win98 printer. Now the Win95 pc("TWO")asks for an MS Networking password.

Personally, I find it simpler to simply use file and printer sharing to share all drives on all machines. On my main machine I do not let the kids "write" on though.
